Outdoor Landscapes and Retreats finished the landscaping works at Leichhardt Public School. Last time we posted on this site works were still in progress. There was a lot of dirt along with some of the structures in place.
It’s now complete.
This new space provides places for children to explore but also offers a new amphitheatre for teaching.
Leichhardt Public School landscaping looks amazing with the new timber decking and amphitheatre.
Since our last post @ Leichhardt Public School we’ve moved a lot of soil and we have installed more metal infrastructure. Painting has been done – white garden beds, multiple colours used on the amphitheatre background, metal work in various hues of green.
The amphitheatre has a rounded deck and a painted vertical timber backdrop. Teachers and students can enjoy outdoor classes in this new teaching space.
The round timber and metal framed offer enough seating for a class. The timber backdrop has the names of the 3 clans of the Era – Gadigal, Birrabirragal and Wangal.

The space has so many things for students to explore including rockeries, stepping stones and sandstone blocks to explore.
Natural timber pedestals make a great climbing challenge and there is a large climbing structure has a rope climbing feature under the pole with “Eora”
The surrounding areas are landscaped with soft fall mulch.
Synthetic turf is laid around the raised garden which is encased with a round metal surround and the word “Gadigal”.
Synthetic turf covers the new basket ball area.
This looks so different to the aerial that you will find on your favourite maps app. This is what it looked like last year.
The cinema brick wall hasn’t moved so you should be able to see what has changed.
We’ll be describing more of the construction and design elements in the coming weeks. Be sure to check back on this site or follow our social media channels for updates.
